Ganderbal, Apr 18 (KNO): A bridge at Wayil in Ganderbal, which connects Srinagar-Leh National Highway, has suffered damages at many places, risking lives of people.
As per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the bridge was constructed by the army years ago and suffered damages in floods but was restored later.
Locals have been demanding construction of a two-way bridge for the last several decades after which a steel truss bridge was approved at a cost of Rs 15 crore.
The construction of the two-way bridge started in 2018, however, it hasn't been completed yet due to which traffic moves through the old bridge.
Sarpanch Showkat Ahmed said that he repeatedly requested the administration to repair the old bridge to no avail—(KNO)
